Informed Consent

Welcome to BC Counselling Services. This page contains important information about our professional services and business policies. It also contains information about the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) standards and how they guide our practice. Please read it carefully and jot down any questions you might have so that we can discuss them at our next meeting. When you sign this document, it will represent an agreement between us.

 

Confidentiality: As a member of the BCACC, I adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines. Information discussed in session will not be disclosed without your written consent, except in the following situations as required by law:

  • Suspected child abuse or dependent adult or elder abuse.

  • If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person.

  • If a client intends to harm themselves.

  • By court order

 

Client Rights:

  1. Right to Refuse or Discontinue Treatment: You have the right to refuse or discontinue treatment at any time without any moral, legal, or financial obligations other than those already accrued.

  2. Feedback and Concerns: Your feedback about our work together is important. Please feel free to discuss any concerns or dissatisfaction with the treatment at any time.

 

Payment & Cancellation Policies:

  1. Cancellation Policy: Please notify us at least 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment.

  2. Fees: Our Counselling fee is $150 per hour. Payment is due at the time of each session unless other arrangements have been made in advance.

  3. Methods of payment accepted: Visa/Mastercard/credit; e-transfer.
